Characteristics of Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valves feature a simple structure, small size, light weight, low material consumption, small installation dimensions, rapid opening and closing, 90° reciprocating rotation, and low driving torque. They are used to cut off, connect, and regulate the medium in pipelines, and have excellent fluid control characteristics and sealing performance when closed.
2. Butterfly valves can transport slurry and accumulate the least liquid at the pipe opening. Good sealing can be achieved under low pressure. Good regulating performance.
3. The streamlined design of the butterfly plate minimizes fluid resistance loss, making it an energy-saving product.

The valve stem is of through-stem structure and has undergone quenching and tempering treatment, featuring excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and scratch resistance. When the butterfly valve is opened or closed, the valve stem only rotates and does not move up or down. The packing of the valve stem is not easily damaged and the sealing is reliable. It is fixed to the butterfly plate with a conical pin. The extended end is designed to prevent the valve stem from bursting out in case of accidental breakage at the connection between the valve stem and the butterfly plate.
5. The connection methods include flange connection, wafer connection, butt welding connection and lug wafer connection.
The drive forms include manual, worm gear transmission, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic linkage and other actuating mechanisms, which can achieve remote control and automated operation.

When fully open, the effective flow area of the valve seat channel is relatively large, and the fluid resistance is relatively small.
7. The opening and closing torque is relatively small. As the butterfly plates on both sides of the rotating shaft are acted upon by the medium almost equally, but the directions of the generated torques are opposite, the opening and closing are relatively effortless.
8. The sealing surface materials are generally rubber or plastic, so the low-pressure sealing performance is good.
9. Easy to install.
10. It is flexible and effortless to operate, and can be selected in manual, electric, pneumatic or hydraulic modes.
