The following are the main precautions for the maintenance and care of butterfly valves:
-Regular inspection : Regularly conduct a visual inspection of the butterfly valve, including the valve body, disc, stem and other components, to check for wear, corrosion or looseness. At the same time, check whether the connecting bolts between the valve and the pipeline are loose, as well as whether there are any signs of leakage in the valve's stuffing box, flange gasket and other parts. In addition, check whether the valve opening is consistent with the actual control signal by the opening indication of the electric actuator or by manual operation on site .
-Lubrication and cleaning : Regularly lubricate the transmission components of the butterfly valve, such as the valve stem, bearings, gears, etc., to reduce friction between components, lower wear and improve transmission efficiency. Meanwhile, regularly clean the dust, oil stains and other impurities on the surface of the butterfly valve to keep its appearance clean. For VALVE INTERIOR, disassembly cleaning can be carried out at appropriate time to remove dirt, impurities and residual medium from valve body cavity, valve core, valve SEAT and OTHER parts .
-Maintenance of electric actuator : Regularly check the power supply of the electric actuator to ensure that the voltage is stable and within the specified range. Meanwhile, check whether the control signal lines are normal and whether there are any problems such as interference and short circuits. Inspect the motor and the reducer, check the wear of the gears, replace the severely worn gears in time, and regularly change the lubricating oil in the reducer. In addition, it is necessary to check whether the travel limit switch and torque protection device of the electric actuator are accurate and reliable.
-Seal maintenance : Regularly inspect the sealing surfaces of the valve to check for any wear, scratches, corrosion or other damage. If there is any minor damage, it can be repaired by methods such as grinding. For butterfly valves that are not in use for a long time, anti-rust measures should be taken, such as applying anti-rust oil to the stem, core, etc. .
-Standard operation : Operators should operate the butterfly valve strictly in accordance with the operating procedures to avoid damage to the valve due to misoperation. Meanwhile, on the premise of meeting the process requirements, try to avoid frequent opening and closing of the butterfly valve to reduce wear and fatigue of the valve .
-Maintenance in special conditions : In high-temperature conditions, special attention should be paid to the selection of appropriate lubricants to ensure that the butterfly valve remains well lubricated even at high temperatures. For environments prone to rust, anti-corrosion measures such as anti-corrosion coating or regular application of anti-rust oil should be taken to prevent the valve body and components from rusting, extend the service life of butterfly valve .
